Summary[]
Yoshikage Kira (吉良 吉影 Kira Yoshikage) is the main antagonist of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable, the fourth part of the long-running manga. A man who grew up in a poor childhood environment, with his neglectful father and his mother performing abusive coddling toward him. Living in the Japanese town of Morioh, he comes off as a completely unremarkable salaryman to those around him, but in reality, he's secretly a paraphilic mass murderer who kills women for their hands to fuel his fetishistic desires and has been performing his ritualistic tendencies for over 15 years, without ever being caught, in due part to having been struck by the arrow and obtaining Killer Queen, a Stand, which has the power to destroy all evidence of his crimes. With the wish to live a quiet life while indulging in his hobby of killing, he avoids suspicion and erases anyone who learns of his true identity.
An extremely intelligent and cunning man who covers up all his crimes and evades all suspicion until one careless mistake brings him into a confrontation with Shigechi, leading the young Stand User to be killed at the hands of Kira's Killer Queen but not before he leaves his allies a piece of evidence to track his killer, leading to Kira being caught in a chase to uncover his identity and bring him to justice for all those who he's killed, and will kill. After a fight where both sides lose he manages to slip away and steal the identity of Kosaku Kawajiri and integrates himself into his life in an attempt to evade his pursuers.
Powers and Stats[]
Dimensionality: 3D
Threat Level: At least Cub+ physically. Demon- with Stand | At least Cub+ physically. Demon- with Stand
Powers and Abilities:
- He and Killer Queen has the following standard abilities of Stand Physiology
- Explosion Manipulation (Can convert anything he touches into a bomb, which he can then detonate at will, grants Kira the ability to do this[2][3] as well)
- Minor Matter Manipulation (Stabilizes the objects he transmutes, forcing them to hold some sort of structure even when damaged[6])
- Minor Body Control (Able to open its abdomen, storing things within such as Stray Cat)
- Summoning & Homing Attack (Can deploy Sheer Heart Attack from its left hand[7], a seemingly indestructible miniature tank that automatically tracks targets through body temperature[8] and explodes upon contact with the severity of the explosion dependent on the heat[8] of the object)
Sheer Heart Attack:
- Small Size (Type 1; Shown here)
- Flight (Type 3; Displayed here[9][8])
All previous abilities in addition to:
- Time Manipulation (When Bites the Dust activates, it simultaneously kills its targets and blows away one hour of time[13][14], returning the host one-hour prior to the detonation)
- Fate Manipulation (Everything that occurred in the blown away time is destined to occur again regardless of differing choices, albeit with potential small variations) and Perception Manipulation (Can appear simultaneously within the eyes of all who trigger it[15]) with Bites the Dust
- Air Manipulation (Via Stray Cat; Killer Queen can fire bubbles of air, which can be turned into translucent bombs)
Physical Strength: At least Street level Striking Strength with at least Regular Human Lifting Strength physically (Was able to, with effort, lift up a 40-50kg weight on his hand and do so for a while). Multi Block level with Stand
Attack Potency: At least Street physically (Brutalized Koichi Hirose[16]). Multi Block with Killer Queen (Has a high basic performance as a Stand[17] having contended with a casual Crazy Diamond[18] and soundly defeated Echoes ACT 3[16], punching a hole through Koichi's body[19]. His explosions could vaporize Kosaku from over a meter away[20] and can harm Crazy Diamond[21]), Varies, up to Multi Block with Sheer Heart Attack (Broke Star Platinum's guard[8]), Killer Queen's first bomb ignores durability (With a full detonation, a target is thoroughly destroyed, exploding and leaving no trace[22]). Multi Block (It is just a smaller Killer Queen) with Universe level Environmental Destruction with Bites the Dust (Killer's Queen final bomb which blows away time[23]; Blows up approximately one hour of time itself alongside its victims[13][14]). Can ignore conventional durability with Bombs 1 and 3.
Durability: At least Street (Can withstand the force of his own blows and has taken extensive punishment, but was ultimately killed by having his face torn off by an ambulance). Multi Block with Stand (Blocked blows from a casual Crazy Diamond, even being able to parry its blows and take a kick to the face, though is demonstrably incapable of properly taking blows from the like of a serious Crazy Diamond and Star Platinum), Bites the Dust, and Stray Cat's air bubbles (Stray Cat's air bubbles can block blows from Crazy Diamond without popping). At least Multi Block, likely higher with Sheer Heart Attack (Star Platinum couldn't deal meaningful damage even after stopping time and rushing it, with Jotaro claiming he never seen a Stand as tough as it)
Speed: Peak Human with at most Relativistic reactions (Could react to Echoes ACT 3[16] and summoned his Stand at comparable speeds to Josuke Higashikata[24]). At most Relativistic, possibly higher with Stand (Killer Queen has high speed and could casually block all of Echoes ACT 3's attacks[16]. Blocked blows from[25] and engaged an end of Part 4 Crazy Diamond in direct combat initially[18], albeit is slower, struggling to keep up with his speed at the end of their fight when both were weakened[24]), FTE with Sheer Heart Attack (Can move like a blur[10]). At most Relativistic, possibly higher with Killer Queen and Bites the Dust
Intelligence: Genius. Kira is an incredibly analytical and perceptive man who was able to evade capture and even suspicion for over 15 years[26] despite having murdered 48 women and taking their hands[27]. Though new to the concept of Stands and unaware of how widespread they are, Kira proved himself to be a competent fighter despite his inexperience, relying on trickery and misdirection to kill his opponents with his deadly bombs. While he's spent his entire life trying to blend in and be more or less unremarkable, Kira is intelligent and excels in many things, from cooking, violin, sports, literature and more[28], utilizing his knowledge of trigonometry to accurately calculate the distance between himself and targets[29][6] to make precise shots with Stray Cat and detonate them at the right times. Moreso than anything, however, Kira excels in high-pressure situations, with his uncanny luck helping him. Even when things reach their worst, Kira forces himself to think rationally and take any opportunity that arises[24], even cutting off his hand to escape Josuke and his friends[30]. Afterward, he found and forced Aya to switch all his identifying traits, such as his face, eyes, and fingerprints with those of Kosaku Kawajiri, ultimately escaping[20]. Kira also displays exceptional acting ability, as displayed when confronted by Josuke as he pretended to be a normal bystander who was caught up in the fight[30], and notably integrated into the life of the man who's identity he stole. Even if he may be inexperienced and uninterested in refining his abilities, Kira is a deadly and cunning opponent with a knack for improvisation.
Stamina: High (Has a tremendous amount of endurance and stamina, having taken part in a lot of sports competition events in his youth. As a Stand User and even into the start of his middle age, Kira has been able to operate even when afflicted by certain effects such as Echoes Act 3 weighing in on his hand and having to drag himself over to where Koichi was while still having the strength to casually overpower him physically and with his Stand. Even when severely injured, Kira was able to remain conscious and recover faster than Jotaro and Koichi, and was able to get across town with a bleeding hand he willingly cut off in order to find another, take his identity, and managed to recover with presumably little medical care. Towards the near end of Part 4, Kira fought Josuke in a fight that lasted 15 minutes, during which he suffered numerous injuries such as getting two holes punched through his back, took numerous blows from a serious Crazy Diamond despite Josuke being just as injured than him if not more, and was finally crippled from Star Platinum. Despite all of this, Kira was able to remain conscious in his attempt to activate his 3rd Bomb up to his death)
Range: Standard Melee Range physically. Killer Queen has an effective manifestation range of 2 meters, Standard Melee Range physically, Varies with Bombs (Capable of controlling the size of the detonation freely when priming; rigged a pebble to make a small blast[31], blew a hole in his vein[32], made a blast tiny to make it seem like Hayato died in an accident[3][33]), Kira also can detonate his bombs regardless of distance[29]. Sheer Heart Attack's effective manifestation range is Infinite. Bites the Dust's can go anywhere in regards to Yoshikage Kira, but must remain within a few meters of its host, Below Standard Melee Range physically, Universal with its true ability (Range-Irrelevant Ability that affects time[34] of the world; Blows away approximately one hour of time itself[23]). At least Tens of Meters with Stray Cat (Can attack within its line of sight[35] and could fire a bomb at Josuke from 13 meters away[6])
Weakness: Standard Stand Physiology weaknesses. Is prone to panicking when his belief that fate is on his side is shaken. Has OCD that can potentially delay in giving the finishing blow (ex. noticing Koichi's inverted causing him to fix it instead of killing him right away). Is an inexperienced fighter and abhors fighting directly unless pushed. Killer Queen can only prime and explode one bomb at a time, and must complete the detonation action to do it. Kira is not exempt from his Stand's explosives, thus he can be harmed if too close when it explodes. If there is no air, the combustion process will not occur and thus fail to explode. | Same as before. Bites the Dust's true ability can only be activated when Kira is driven into a corner, can only be used on those who lack a Stand and is incapable of being used on himself. Once it's activated, Kira can not utilize his Stand and must deactivate Bites the Dust to recall his Stand (in turn, this causes the time loop to break) and isn't aware of future events or when time loops unless he deactivates the ability. Deactivating Bites the Dust for any reason or if killed before someone is fated to die in a time loop will inadvertently spare the target.
Arsenal[]
His Stand, Killer Queen. Stray Cat (As Kosawa Kawajiri)
Noteworthy Techniques and Abilities[]
Killer Queen: Kira's Stand, brought out by the power of The Bow & Arrow[1]. Killer Queen is a natural-humanoid Short-Distance Power-Type Stand with a maximum manifestation range of 1~2 Meters[36][1], that is generally depicted as muscular, whitish-pink, and decorated with black gear donning its logo. Killer Queen displays high power and speed as expected of a Short-Distance type, though not to the degree of its direct competition Crazy Diamond and especially that of Jotaro Kujo's Star Platinum[17]. Killer Queen's primary power is that of explosives, to be more precise it has two, eventually three, Bomb Abilities it can use and deploy depending on the situation, powers that were brought forth by the user's compulsive desire to kill, enabling him to go about murdering his victims without leaving behind any evidence; a fact that enabled him to go unnoticed by the police[37] and escape capture for over 15 years[26].
Killer Queen's first bomb. It enables whatever Killer Queen (Or Kira[2]) touches with the tip of their fingers into becoming a bomb regardless of substance[18] with such examples including objects, humans to even the air and Stands[36][18][24].
There are two primary ignition timings:
- Contact Detonation: This type is a bomb that explodes as soon as Kira touches it[38][2]. Should something were to come into contact with the primed explosive, or when the primed target is touched by something else enabling the transfer of the charge to the new target and destroying them instead from within[39][22].
- Remote Detonation: Unlike the first type, the second type is a bomb that doesn't explode on contact and instead is remotely detonated via Killer Queen pressing its thumb to its right hand as if pressing a switch[39][32] and can be detonated at any point in time no matter the distance[29].
Regardless of what bomb he uses, any transmutated object Kira explodes gets thoroughly destroyed and vaporized, leaving no evidence[2][3][22] that could implicate Kira in his crimes and when coupled with the fact the explosions can't be heard normally[40] as they originate from a Stand[11], making it a suitable Stand for Kira's needs. Kira can also control the size of the explosives in advance[41][22] something which comes in use when dealing with Remote Detonation Bombs. The extent to which he can control the blasts is quite impressive, ranging from making blasts small enough to blow a narrow hole in his vein[32], make it look Hayato died an accidental death via head trauma[3][33] and more, making it very suitable for many situations.
Kira can also freely control how much of a transmutated target is actually turned into a bomb and thus leave various things out of the detonation process, mainly using this to kill women by vaporizing them but leaving their hands behind to fuel his paraphilic desires[2][22]. But they can also be used to leave a primed target that would normally vanish upon detonation[22] by remaining intact. With this feature, his bombs can remain stabilized by his ability and thus can't be conventionally destroyed[6]. While the destruction of the target or lack thereof is done through ability, the ensuing blasts themselves can be quite powerful being able to obliterate those caught within the blast radius[20] or even harm the likes of Crazy Diamond[21]. Notably, while almost always accompanied by explosions he can also destroy a target without needing a blast by simply evaporating it on contact, something he once did to discreetly get rid of a hand[3].
In a flash of foresight, Kira decided to raise Stray Cat for the sole purpose of making use of its ability to manipulate the air and combining it with his bomb ability[35][18] to create a long-ranged projectile attack, storing Stray Cat within Killer Queen's abdomen (Closing its abdomen puts Stray Cat to sleep, preventing it from acting out[17]).
With Killer Queen's transmutation bomb creation and Stray Cat's air bullets, Kira has gained the ability to create Ignition Bombs of both varieties of his Stand's base abilities, one of which can detonate upon coming into contact with something and thus tend to boast high lethality due to exploding at point-blank but as a caveat, they can be blocked by obstacles[21]. The other type can be detonated at will at any distance, and due to their nature of being made of air, they can slip through wherever air can get through[21][29] such as through cracks[21] or walls[42][43] thus bypassing obstacles but as a downside, Kira must time the detonation manually and as such he risks them losing lethality if mistimed[29][6]. Due to Killer Queen's stabilization effect, even if the bubbles get destroyed they will hold their form[6], something which merely causes the following explosions to be even harder to avoid.
The bubbles can be shot and move a considerable distance, mitigating Kira's usual lack of offensive options at long-range, and by ejecting air from the bubble he's able to manipulate its trajectory, coupled with being extremely difficult to see due to being translucent[6] they're generally hard to avoid though this can be mitigated by scattering a substance like ash or smoke[43] to make the bubbles visible.
An unintended benefit of retaining Stray Cat within its body is that if Killer Queen is attacked, it might cause Stray Cat to mistake the attacks as ones upon itself, and will proceed to try its best to protect himself and by proxy Killer Queen through use of air cushions[24], as this is done instinctively on Stray Cat's end Kira has no control over this[17].
Killer Queen's Second Bomb - A miniature tank-like Auto-Pilot[34] Sub-Stand from its left hand. Due to being an independent automated Stand, it can function while Kira himself is some distance away and even still retain a high degree of power[9], in direct contrast to most other Stands which gradually get weaker the further they stray from the main body[9]. Furthermore, due to being independent, the range itself is far and beyond most other Stands, with the maximum distance Sheer Heart Attack can chase and stray from Kira being Infinite[44], and it won't return until it kills the target it aims for, upon which it will automatically return to Kira and Killer Queen[9][44][39], otherwise Kira has to manually retrieve it[45][46]. In addition, it boasts high mobility that allows it to drive upon impossible surfaces like walls and ceilings[9][8], burst from the ground[9][16], or even fly through the air and change its trajectory mid-charge[9][8].
Due to its remote nature and lack of manual support from Kira, it relies solely on heat and can see in the infrared spectrum[8], targeting whatever has the highest temperature within its vision and attempt to blast it[8]. While being one of its greatest strengths, it's also its most fatal flaw as if something with a higher temperature appears, it'll spontaneously change targets and aim for that instead[8]. Due to this flaw, it can be fooled into aiming for things other than the intended target as long as a continuous heat source exceeding that of the victim is present[47], though caution still must be maintained as if it destroys the heat source it will resume its pursuit of the target[47] and it still retains enough intelligence to know when it fails to kill its victim and will not stop until it does[8].
The Stand's primary plan of action entails vocally calling out to its targets, drawing their attention toward the sound of the voice, something it utilizes to catch up to its victims or confuse them and to attack by charging toward a heat-source and if touched[9][8] - explode; the strength at which it charges is quite powerful and is capable of pulverizing flesh[10] or destroying obstacles and objects[47]. Explosions are the primary killing method and are quite powerful even if not overly large, fulfilling the intended purpose of erasing the victim. Alongside deciding what it aims for, heat also affects the intensity of the ensuing blast - A higher temperature results in a proportionally stronger and more intense blast; the default power that corresponds to that of a victim's body temperature is sufficient enough to vaporize a human leaving no evidence[7] while something as hot as an open flame was enough to fatally wound[19][30] Jotaro Kujo and inversely something only as hot as a light fixture is relatively weak comparatively[47], but because it isn't harmed when it explodes it can explode repeatedly until it completes its goal. The Stand also possesses a tremendous physical strength to such a degree that despite weighing so much that the road below itself collapsed, it can still slowly move through the pavement, leaving a trail of compressed concrete behind it[45][46].
Another prominent feature of Sheer Heart Attack is its nigh-indestructible nature that is so ridiculously tough that not even Star Platinum stopping time and rushing it inflicted any real damage[7] which is something Koichi points at as being impossible from his perspective and that nothing should be able to withstand his power[7][46]. Despite being independent and nearly impervious to damage that doesn't mean the Stand and Kira aren't connected, the damage between them is reflected and the sensation and abilities that afflict them is shared between them relatively, for example: Having its effective weight increased by such an extent and collapsing the ground beneath itself would reflect onto Kira, making his hand feel 40-50kg heavier from his point of view[45][46] or when the user's hand was damaged, despite being nearly indestructible, the Stand gained damage proportional to how bad the hand was hurt[46]. As a fortunate caveat of being deployed from just his left hand, the connection between them only extends to Kira's left hand[46][16]. Finally, as a last resort, Kira can cut off his hand and deploy Sheer Heart Attack in order for it to be completely unhindered by anything that happens to himself, doing so makes it a functionally invincible Stand that will track forever[44].
Killer Queen's Third Bomb - gained due to his intense dread and desperation after his impulsive killing of Hayato, where he was pierced once again by the Stand Arrow[33], granting him a final trump card to use in the direst situations[23][48].
The usage of this bomb is to kill anyone or anything that tries to figure out Kira's identity, with the triggers include the mere act of trying to uncover Kira[15] or questioning the host. Should the host speak of Kira[49] or if Kira's identity is written down[50][25], no matter the method, if it leads to directly revealing Kira, it will activate upon which it will dive into the eyes of everyone who knows of his true identity simultaneously and blow them all up and because seeing it means it's already entered the eye, it's incredibly hard to stop.
After blowing up its targets does it reveal its true power: The ability to blow away time[23] in which approximately one hour of time itself alongside the victims is blown away[13][14], and doing so will cause the host of the Stand to return back in time by 1 hour prior to the point of the most recent detonation.
From that point on time will continue on the same way as it once did; unrelated civilians perform the same actions every time, lightning strikes the same point at the same time and only the host to Bites the Dust, with the knowledge of future events[51][52] can do anything in an effort of changing the timeline and while Kira will remember everything happened on the initial detonation[33][23], following detonations has him unaware of what happens in the blown away time unless he deactivates the ability[49]. All things that happened in a previous loop become fated to happen again, and while the host can make efforts to try and change the course of time, they will inevitably occur and while the ability is in effect, all things that broke once will be guaranteed to break again and in direct correlation to this fact once the appropriate time occurs, those blown up in a previous time loop will be eradicated by fate and spontaneously combust[5][52]. With all of this factored in, it enables protecting Kira by killing those who try to uncover him while simultaneously removing the fact the host ever met with the victims or that his identity was ever revealed. Once more, if Kira deactivated Bites the Dust after all targets are killed but before time loops, the deaths will become a fact and will continue to remain as part of the timeline[25].
Furthermore, Bites the Dust itself is harmless to the host[5] and will protect them at all costs[53] even going as far to prevent the host from committing suicide, as the death of the host would be an inconvenience to Kira[15].Notable Matches[]
Notes[]
- When making a versus thread, it should be made clear on what version of Kira is being used here. Largely speaking, Kira as both himself or as Kosaku are the same with the only notable difference is the additions of Bite the Dust and Stray Cat added to his arsenal. Even then, nothing else has changed with Kira and his Stand, thus it should be clarified if the Kira being used in the match is from before he became Kosaku (aka Pre Stand Arrow) or after Kosaku (more specifically after being pierced by the Stand Arrow that gave him Bite the Dust, and having Stray Cat along with him).
