Introduction[]

In this blog, I'll explain about Dragon Ball Heroes continuities and it's cosmology but do keep in mind most of the information given here aren't directly from me.

Continuities[]

Arcade (SDBH)

Nintendo Switch (SDBH World Mission)

Nintendo 3DS (DBH Ultimate Mission, 2 & X)

SDBH (Arcade) Division[]

Anime

Manga (Dark Demon Realm, Universe Mission, Big Bang Mission, New Space-Time War)

Anime and Manga are adaptation of the arcade game but there's still a lot of differences between them hence anime and manga can be considered as separated continuity. DBH Victory mission is a special manga regarding The Real World and DBH Charisma mission acts as a guide for new DBH players.

Note: (Both Anime and Manga along with the animated trailers acts as a supplementary material for the arcade game)

Arcade Continuity[]

In this continuity, The MC meets Trunks:Xeno for the first time in Jakuryuu Mission 6

Nintendo 3DS Continuity[]

During this continuity, The MC meets Trunks:Xeno for the first time in the very beginning of DBH Ultimate Mission X game (After The MC was dragged into an alternate timeline by a Dark-Energy affected Arcade machine)

Nintendo Switch Continuity[]

In this continuity, the MC/Beat met Trunks:Xeno (in disguise of the Great Saiyaman 3) for the first time in Beat’s timeline, when he came to play SDBH for the first time. Trunks:Xeno later revealed his identity

So, It's very evident that there's multiple continuities of Dragon Ball Heroes which are entirely separated and can't fit into each other as they have their own versions of Xeno Goku, Xeno Vegeta, Xeno Trunks, Demigra, Chamel etc characters.

Cosmology[]

Dragon Ball Heroes basically shares the same concept of Xenoverse when it comes to cosmology despite the fact both Xenoverse and Dragon Ball Heroes are entirely separated games with their own stories. DB: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is arguably a part of Dragon Ball Heroes as well. I'll post few evidence below from both games and prove that Xenoverse cosmology is indeed canon to Dragon Ball Heroes, along with DB: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 being possibly part of it. Essentially, Dragon Ball Heroes is a multiverse consisting with infinite number of timelines but that aside there's a space called Crack Of Time and The Real World, which are two major parts of Dragon Ball Heroes cosmology that I'll explain soon.

Concept[]

It’s been repeatedly established that Time Nest, Crack Of Time, Time Scroll, TokiToki etc exists in Dragon Ball Heroes which primarily originated from Xenoverse and the fact nothing was explicitly stated to be different other than the stories so there’s no point in making an assumption that the concept is different. While some might say since it’s a different game so by default these are separated however given the fact it’s been established even said concepts (which are available in Heroes) are exactly as Xenoverse or at least works similarly and so far no contradiction is noticeable, thus it’s safe to say Xenoverse concept is canon to Heroes, at best you can argue it’s a mirror that will still grant a likely rating, regardless.

Time Nest and Time Scroll made their debut in Xenoverse but it's repeatedly shown to exists in all continuities of Dragon Ball Heroes, including TokiToki as well.

Crack Of Time made it's advent in Xenoverse however it's also stated to exists in all continuities of Dragon Ball Heroes, Infact it was shown in multiple continuities too.

DB: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is another Bandai Namco game that is possibly a part of Dragon Ball Heroes, considering many games of the same brand have been added to it, for instance Budokai series is pretty blatantly shown to be a portion of the Heroes multiverse with Shin Budokai's plot, although I do understand solid evidences are essentially lacking in this case.

Based on all these evidence we can certainly confirm that Xenoverse cosmology is indeed canon and DB: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is possibly part of Dragon Ball Heroes, regardless of the difference between their stories.

Crack Of Time[]

Crack Of Time (時の狭間) aka Chasm Of Time or Time Abyss is a dimension originally appeared in Xenoverse. Basically, It is an enclosed space that is separated from the dimension of time.

Crack of time 1
Crack of time 2

Crack Of Time contains crystallines which are basically known as Histories/Timelines according to Dragon Ball Xenoverse.

It's further confirmed by Raditz’s statement that CoT contains timelines.

DBH-91

Trunks explicitly stated in Dragon Ball manga that each changes in the past creates alternative timelines which is exactly how the histories works or are created in Dragon Ball Xenoverse and Dragon Ball Heroes, Basically each and every action taken in past by someone who travelled from the future would result in a creation of simultaneous Timelines.

Trunks statement

Dragon Ball Heroes and Dragon Ball Xenoverse cosmology is made of infinite timelines which I'll prove now. In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (DLC 6), During Extra Pack 2: Infinite History Saga, Fu stated History isn’t linear and it’s certainly not finite.

History11
QOEHtmk
History7

Fu, one of the most intelligent character in Dragon Ball Heroes/Xenoverse tells Dabura that he is interested in exploring all the possibilities. He then proceeds to clarify that he is talking about timelines. This suggests that the term Possibility and Timeline are interchangeable and that possibilities can be explored. Since there's infinite possibilities, this means that there is an infinite amount of timelines to be explored in the multiverse as all possibilities can be physically explored and experimented with to affect History.

History aka

According to original Japanese context of the Time Patrollers (Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2), History is infinitely branched out which solidifies the fact that Dragon Ball Xenoverse/Heroes Multiverse is indeed infinite.

History8
History9

These were taken up to several different Japanese translators, who gave slightly diverging translations. Among which:

  • はあ... 歴史について学んでも学んでも... キリがないな... 頭が痛くなるぜ...! = Hah...If you learned or not about history...[you know] it doesn't make sense....my head is gonna start hurting.
  • まあ 歴史なんて 無限に枝分かれしてるうえにどの歴史がどう正しいかなんてわからないしね.. = History is infinitely branched out...I don't know which one is right [after a while]...

Another Japanese translator gave a more general translation:

  • Well, history is something that, on top of having limitless branches, we don't know which history is correct, etc.
  • Sigh...even if I study and study about history, there's no end to it...my head hurts!

The following statements suggest that History meaning the Multiverse, which already consists of infinite timelines, can end up taking infinite number of diverging timelines (paths) which in turn means there is an infinite number of alternate possible timelines with each outcome being its own timeline for every possible outcome, there is a timeline. In short with infinite possible outcome, there is infinite timelines.

History10
History12
History13
History14

According to the Time Patrollers from Xenoverse 2, There are infinite possibilities for timelines and all sorts of these possibilities already exist as stated in Dragon Ball Heroes, that can be interpreted as all possible types of timelines, which are overflowing meaning infinite timelines that already exist to be able to flow without having to be created first.

DB: Budokai Tenkaichi 3

During the epilogue for the What-If Saga, the Narrator (omniscient source) states that the Dragon Ball multiverse contains an infinite number of alternate worlds and it probably does applies to Dragon Ball Heroes.

BT3pt1
Budokai3
  • 悟空が見たのは、もしもの世界の ほんのひとかけらに過ぎない。= "Goku had only seen a small fraction of the worlds."
  • "もしもの世界は無限にある" = "The number of worlds is infinite."
  • "ドラゴンボールを愛する人がいる限り..." = "As long as people continue to love Dragon Ball..."

Dragon Ball Heroes

There's a statement from Red-masked Saiyan directly mentioning about countless timelines which proves my point furthermore.

Heroes10

More confirmation about countless timelines and this time it's from the recent chapter of DBHeroes: Ultra God Mission.

DBH-90

It's certain that Dragon Ball Heroes Multiverse is infinite and Crack Of Time contains all the Histories/Timelines. Generally, Space-Time coexists with each other like 3 spatial dimension and 1 temporal dimension however since it’s fiction where creators doesn’t really give much heed to these stuff there can be more than 3 spatial dimension while lacking the temporal dimension (Time). Take Crack Of Time for an example, despite the fact it lacks time it still contains infinite number of 4D timelines which isn’t usually possible for a 3D space to contain so by virtue of containing 4D structure space-time continuum it's actually a 4D space which lacks time.

Based on all the evidence so far, we can conclude that Crack Of Time has 4 spatial dimension while lack the temporal dimension (time) and it contains infinite number of Histories/Timelines which is basically High Multiverse+ following the tiering system of this wiki.

The Real World[]

Dbh vjump
Real World

The Real World is basically a universe which made it's appearance in Dragon Ball Heroes where the protagonists of said games lives in. DBH Victory Mission is a spin off manga that was created by Toyotarou in 2012, which explains a lot about The Real World and Dragon Ball Heroes Arcade Machine.

According to Victory Mission manga, Beat lives in Satan City and studies in Satan Primary School.

RW1

Puck is a friend of Beat in the Real World who originally appeared in Dragon Ball GT A Hero's Legacy.

RW2
RW3

When Momo-Chan was talking about the Dragon Balls, Note became surprised and implied the Dragon Balls were believed to have disappeared a long time ago in their World.

Note assertion

Sora states that the previous Z-fighters are remembered as Myths in the Real World.

Sora1

Note explicitly stated the world which they live in is the future someone else saved, evidently referring to the previous Z-fighters and the Dragon Balls were used to grant many wishes.

Note1

DBH Arcade Machine is basically a Space-Time transmission device which was created by capsule corp that allows the user to travel into different points of history. It also allows the user to summon various characters through Space-Time via Cards he/she has and transform into different races like Saiyan, Namekian, Freeza Clan, Android, Majin etc which is known as Avatar according to Beat and co, However it is possible for the user to remain in Human form too as shown by Dr. Auto who secretly studied Space-Time transmission device and used it to go in different points of time in order to gather the Dragon Balls which by the way were unfortunately on their last stage with cracks on them.

RW4

Sora came from his timeline to the Real World and ultimately returned to it using the exact same DBH Arcade Machine. Dimensional Transfer in this context is basically referring to Space-Time Transmission which is very evident after seeing all the evidence so far.

Sora2

The following statements from DBH special manga Charisma Mission/Ultimate Charisma Mission basically shows Demon God Salsa is advertising Ultimate Mission X (Nintendo 3DS) for readers which doesn’t really have anything to do with the main story.

Narrator stated Dragon Ball Heroes was no ordinary game.

Narrator

According to Beat, Dragon Ball Heroes is both a game and at the same time it isn’t which creates contradiction but to be fair simply viewing it as a fiction while lacking other qualification of higher dimensional existence doesn’t necessarily makes The Real World a 5th dimensional space when rest of the evidence evidently proves it’s just a future timeline of Dragon Ball.

Beat1

Outside World in this context is basically used as a reference to the Real World by Momo-Chan which once again doesn't prove it being a higher dimension, not to mention Black Smoke Shenron was able to effect the Real World as well which wouldn't have been possible if it really existed outside the ordinary plane of 4th Dimension.

A Higher Dimensional entity in fiction is often portrayed to be incomprehensible for regular 3D characters and/or that their existence is bigger than the Universe itself and/or they exist in such a level that it is impossible for regular 3D characters to interact with them and/or they see lower dimensions and their inhabitants as nothing more than fiction. According to the Wikipedia, 5th dimensional space consists of four spatial dimension and one temporal dimension.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five-dimensional_space

Evidently, There's not a single evidence till now which proves The Real World is a 5th Dimensional Space. It's only a 4D Universe/Timeline which is made of 3 spatial and 1 temporal dimension. Even if it were to exist outside the multiverse such still wouldn’t prove the point because existing outside of Space-Time doesn’t automatically makes it a higher dimensional construct or anyone 5D without qualitative transcendence.

Momo1
Momo2

According to Goku:Xeno from SDBH World Mission (Nintendo Switch), Beat is his descendent and The Real World is just a future timeline of Dragon Ball, which once again proves my points.

Based on all these evidence so far I think it’s fair to say The Real World isn’t actually a higher dimension but the Future World/Timeline of Dragon Ball.
