Story
Street Fighter story revolves around many skilled martial artists around the world which battle in a World Warrior tournaments due to certain events, making them crossing paths with one another.
The main character of the series, Ryu, whom is on a quest to become a master, traveling the world to improve his skills, along becoming powerful enough to defeat Akuma, who took his master Gouken life, until it was revealed he was actually alive.
The chronological order for the series isnt based on which released first normally from 1 to 5, so for any info regarding this and important plot points, please refer to this blog. Meanwhile the Street Fighter EX series is considered to be a separate canon from the main series, therefore making it non canon to the other ones.
The first World Warrior tournament is held by Sagat, the "Emperor of Muay Thai", who is the greatest fighter of this style of fighting, wanting to prove as the strongest fighter in the world. Ryu enters in this tournament to test his skills, the battles consisted of ten opponents from five different countries, whom Ryu manages to defeat till he faced against Sagat himself.
Sagat while a formidable opponent, is defeated by Ryu in the end, becoming the World Warrior champion, although later the story will be retconned into Sagat actually dominating and destroying Ryu in battle. Sagat being a sportsmanship person, offers Ryu a helping hand, which in response, Ryu gives him the scar on his chest, leaving him in a near death state. This was the first time he gave into the Satsui no Hado, a form of ki that is rooted in the darker aspects of the natural human instinct, as such Sagat sought revenge on Ryu from that day on.
In the mean time, Ken Masters, one of Gouken students and a friendly rival of Ryu, participates in a different tournament held in America and Ken wins the US Martial Arts tournament, he doesnt officially take part in the first World Warrior tournament at all.
Bison at this point holds the second World Warrior tournament, to get some of the greatest fighters from the world, his attention being mostly on Ryu, wanting his body for his power he inside him.
At the end of the tournament, Bison encounters the master of the fist Akuma, whom easily puts Bison down and seemingly kills him with the raging demon, a move meant to destroy the soul of the victim, yet he manages to survive the deadly technique and as such continuing with his plans. The winner of the tournament is unknown.
Several months since the events of Street Fighter 2, Seth, whom is one of the many genetically engineered replacement body of Bison and CEO of Shadaloo weapon division known as S.I.N., holds the third World Warrior tournament, in order to draw out the most powerful fighters on the planet to complete the BLECE project.
Althought their real desire is to lure Ryu to them, in order to analyze his Satsui no Hado, thinking thats the last piece of data needed to complete BLECE project. Bison at a later time, near the end defeats Seth and kills him, as well as encountering Juri, whom he beats as well and takes the Feng Shui eye from her.
Somewhere around these events Gouken and Akuma battle over Ryu, with Ryu being helped by his master to keep the Satsui no Hado under control for the time being at least.
Set after the first tournament, but before the second tournament, Bison travels acrosso the globe to look for strong fighters to join the criminal syndicate known as Shadaloo.
Sagat, joins the crime syndicate as one of Bison mans, along others such as Balrog, Vega and Birdie, with Sgata vowing revenge on Ryu for the defeat against him in the last tournament.
The weapon known as the Psycho Drive is created, for the purpose of supplying Bison body with unlimited Psycho Power, which gets the attention of the US military, especially Charlie Nash and Guile, as well as the Hong Kong police officer Chun Li, to put a stop to this.
Set around the same time as the first alpha game, Ryu and ken are having some sparing matches, then they happen to see their master Gouken to be dead when coming to his dojo for a visit, later found it was by Akuma hand. Ryu would eventually come face to face against his master killer on his journey, even defeating him, however, its pointed out by narrative and Akuma himself that he wasnt really trying in their battle.
As such he destroys the island they have fought on, leaving Ryu with the knowledge he has the same power as him, being the Satsui no Hado, as well as when he will give in to the dark power within him, their next battle will be the one to decide who is more powerful between the two, Ryu left floating in the water thinks deeply about his words and what is gonna wait him in the future.
Set around in more or less the same time as other previous alpha games, the world warriors succeed at defeating Bison and destroy the Psycho Drive and supposedly ending Shadaloo too, yet the project "Living Incubator", with the purpose of developing new substitute bodies for Bison, is getting put in action.
An artificial man named Abel is born and saved by Charlie Nash, which would follow later on with his confrontation against Bison himself, only to lead to his betrayal and shortly after, his death for the following games. Guile is set to avenge his best friend and comrade on the crime syndicate leader ever since for that and continue to put an end to his plans.
Power of the verse
Street Fighter is a verse with quite a variety of fighters, for both styles and power. While the weakeat of the cast would be like Wall level, while most of the cast scales to Town level up.
For those much more powerful, which is starting from the top tiers, hits up to Mountain levels of power, while the strongest ones the series has to offer, goes up to Island level at its absolute best for now, which is reserved to Oni and Bison powered by the black moons respectively, with F.A.N.G having access to the already mentioned black moons for his use.
In regards to speed, the weaker characters would be supersonic in speed, while the vast majority goes up to massively hypersonic to massively hypersonic+ speeds, while from the top tiers to god tiers, it goes on to the much higher ends of the massively hypersonic+ speed range.
The hax of the verse is quite impressive, from the multitudes of powers which the series offers like Psycho Power and Satsui no Hado for example, that grant things such as Telekinesis, Intangibility, Teleportation, Soul Destruction, Mind Manipulation, Forcefield Creation and much more.
Street Fighter overall is a decently powerful series, but not really as strong as most of his competitors in the fighting game genre, such as Tekken and Soul Calibur, but for the most part above to a vast array of the cast from franchises like Mortal Kombat and Dead or Alive.
