Summary[]
Caster is the Caster-class Servant of Ryuunosuke Uryuu during the Fourth Holy Grail War.
His True Name is Gilles de Rais. He was a French nobleman, a Baron who became a hero during the Hundred Years War, fighting alongside the famed Jeanne d'Arc. She was everything to him, so when Jeanne was burnt at the stake, Gilles fell into despair, wasting his fortune away, turning to occultism and torturing and murdering many young boys and girls. Although he committed many crimes, the nobles around him turned a blind eye until they desired his lands. For this, he was executed; Not out of justice, but out of greed.
Because of this notoriety, he gave birth to the legend that tells of his atrocities as the serial killer "Bluebeard", which in turn overrides his summoning to be a maddened Caster rather than the heroic Knight that fought with the Saint in life.
Powers and Stats[]
Dimensionality: 3D
Threat Level: At least Wolf physically, likely higher. Varies with summons. At least Dragon- with the Horror
Powers and Abilities:
- Enhanced Senses (As a former general in life, his senses are still sharp to warn him of potential dangers and risks)
- Clairvoyance (Can use a crystal ball as a medium to observe from a safe location. He is also able to know if someone else is using clairvoyance on him in this way.)
- Healing and Pain Manipulation (Has healing and pain-numbing spells he used to keep his victims alive)
- Fear Inducement (His Evil Eye of Abyss allows him to sprout the same fear and despair he felt in life onto his enemies)
- Limited Spatial Manipulation (with Prelati's spellbook; was distorting space from the sheer quantity of mana it was pouring out prior to summoning the Horror)
- Creation via Prelati's spellbook and monsters (Can spawn endless amounts of creatures through the book, and said creatures can be spawned from defeated ones)
- Resistance to Mind Manipulation (His high-ranked Mental Pollution prevents any magecraft attempts to affect his mind)
Gigantic Horror:
- Aura (Fear-inducing and overwhelming; The Horror's summon caused Waver's magic circuits to go into a spasm, and could even be felt across all the masters of Fuyuki City)
- Regeneration (At least Low-Mid, possibly higher; Was capable of regenerating instantly from Saber and Rider's attacks, and even those of Gil's weapons he launched which can pierce through mountains)
Physical Strength: At least Superhuman level Striking Strength with Peak Human Lifting Strength (Can casually crush a human's head to mush, which requires this much energy to perform), likely higher (As a former knight and general of the French Army during the Hundred Years War, Gilles still maintains physic from those days and thus likely to be stronger than least combat-abled Servants for his class. However, he is more focused on his magecraft than fighting directly and as this is from his later years after his time in the war, it's unclear how much of his former physical strength is there)
Attack Potency: Varies with summons (The normal monsters are strong enough to bind Saber in place, and can also tear a child to pieces. While inferior in power to Servants, large number of the monster summons can be sufficient enough to hold off the likes of Artoria and Diarmuid through sheer quantity.), at least Mountain for the Gigantic Horror (Required the combined forces of Saber, Lancer, Rider, and Archer just to keep it at bay, and only powerful attacks on the scale of Excalibur was needed to completely take it down. In Turas Realta, Siegfried was also capable of using his Noble Phantasm to completely halt the Gigantic Horror in its tracks and regeneration with support from Georgius own to turn the latter temporarily into a "dragon", allowing Balmung's bonus damage against dragons to activate)
Durability: At least Superhuman, likely higher physically. Varies with summons (Weaker than a Servant individually, but should otherwise be the same as their AP). At least Mountain for the Gigantic Horror (Attacks from Saber, Lancer, and Rider were incapable of dealing any lasting damage, and even Archer's weapons that can pierce mountains didn't do anymore than make it pause for a few mere moments. Only attacks on the level of Balmung and Excalibur were needed to completely stall it or even destroy it for good.)
Speed: Supersonic (Although not one to be agile in this class and focusing more on magecraft, Gilles was able to perceive Saber and Lancer's battle through his crystal ball. Was quick enough to instantly realized Saber's killing intent and thought to attack him, using a child as a human shield to stop her from going through with it.)
Intelligence: At least above average. Gilles de Rais is completely insane and a total sadist and sociopath. He does not hesitate to murder or torture children unless it would further his pleasure, with his killing spree leaving him an expert on anatomy and allowing him to preserve human bodies so that his master can play with them like instruments. However, he himself is completely inept at magecraft and is only able to accomplish his feats through the use of Prelati's Spellbook, from which he uses a variety of R'lyeh phrases to call familiars from another plane which he can direct at his foes. That said, his experience with the occult through his interactions with Prelati in life made him familiar enough with the book to chant spells without having to look at it and managed to summon the Gigantic Horror even after the Spellbook was damaged by Lancer Gáe Daerg. This experience also extends to knowing the nature and range of bounded fields as well being cautious to set up traps or preemptive measures for those of the Martial Class like Saber or the Calvary Class of the Assassin. Lastly, as a once former knight that fought in the Hundred Years War, Gilles senses have remained sharp enough to remind him to be cautious of any warrior who displays even the slightest of killing intent towards him, enabling him to focus back from his sadism and on the fight itself.
Stamina: High (Should be comparable to most Servants who can last hours on end without tiring. Has Prelati's spellbook which has a wealth of mana separate from his own that he can use)
Range: Several to dozens of meters with summoning, thousands of kilometers with clairvoyance (could use his crystal ball to spy on anyone and anywhere throughout Fuyuki City, using it to spy on Saber and Lancer's fight from a hidden location)
Weakness: Servant Physiology weaknesses. Cutting off the spellbook's mana flow for even just an instant can cause any and all summoned creatures sans the Gigantic Horror to disappear, requiring Gilles to resummon them once the mana flow is return to normal. Summoning the Gigantic Horror requires Gilles some time to get to a point where it can be "remotely controlled".
Arsenal[]
Prelati's spellbook.
Noteworthy Techniques and Abilities[]
- Item Creation: A skill standard to the Caster Class. However, it has become lost as a result of his acquisition of Prelati's spellbook.
- Territory Creation: A skill which quantifies one's ability to create a territory advantageous to them as a Magus. At Caster's B-Rank, he is able to create a Workshop, allowing him to use human sacrifices to generate an area suitable for the summoning of his Horrors.
- Eye for Art: Caster's intense infatuation and knowledge of great works of art gives him a very small chance of being able to identify a Noble Phantasm with artistic anecdotes.
- Mental Pollution: A distorted mentality that shuts out mental interference, at the cost of it being near impossible to come to terms or an understanding with Caster. His A-rank gives him a very high chance to dispel attempts to affect his mind.
Prelati's Spellbook (Textbook of the Sunken Spiral Castle): A demonic grimoire with a cover of glistening, wet human skin, known as the R'lyeh Text, and translated into Italian from a non-human language by François Prelati. It contains records and forbidden knowledge relating to an ancient god that existed before humanity. Due to his association with Prelati and occult practices, Caster is summoned with the Spellbook as a Servant despite not being a magus in life (a Class he otherwise is the weakest of all other magus were it not for the book). It allows him to summon Horrors from the depths of another dimension's seas, on top of a variety of other spells. The Spellbook is a monster itself, working as a magical energy reactor core with a massive store of magical energy independent of Caster's. The book is also capable of regenerating should it ever suffer damage, such as the wound caused by Gae Dearg which only cut off its mana flow and regenerated once contact was cut off.
Despite his lack of magical knowledge, Caster knows the text so well that he is able to use it effectively, allowing him to summon Horrors using the flesh of other creatures as a catalyst. They are not spiritual bodies, nor are they members of the Phantasmal Species, but they are the occupants of another dimension with completely different natural laws. They can't be controlled, but they can be guided, and while they are not comparable to Servants, they can be summoned in such numbers that they can easily overwhelm them.
As long as they receive magical energy, they can remain in the world, constantly regenerating and spawning from the flesh of their own dead. If their connection to the Spellbook is severed for even a moment, they will all immediately dissipate into a bloody mist.
- Gigantic Horror: By merging with the Spellbook and his summons after chanting for an extended period of time, Caster can summon a Gigantic Horror, his most powerful summon made up of countless Horrors merged together. It is large enough to completely encompass Caster and dwarf buildings, and though it is not under his control, it will mindlessly devour his surroundings. It is incredibly difficult to kill due to its regenerative capabilities, allowing it to constantly regenerate from attacks from Saber, Lancer, Rider, and even Archer, requiring an attack on the scale of Excalibur to destroy. It can also be destroyed by killing Caster's Master, though this would only occur if he did not start absorbing humans to keep himself alive.
